Panel Composition
Hycomb panels are constructed from high strength aluminum honeycomb cores, sandwiched between your choice of surface and an aluminum 1.0 mm sheet. (as seen in the diagram below). The surface and aluminum sheets are secured to the core with High Strength Epoxy Resin.
The surfaces themselves can range from Natural Stone (Limestone, Sandstone, Marble, Onyx, Granite, etc.), Porcelain, Sintered Stone, Anodized or painted aluminum, and Stainless Steel; all to the discretion of the specifier. In the natural stone process, HyCOMB USA® will laminate each side of the slab with our sandwich panel and then it is sliced to yield TWICE the sqaure footage from the original slab! Each panel is then calibrated to thickness and given the specified finish (polished, honed, etc.) We then package each panel in foam protection, package for transport, and ship to your site / facility (click image)
The panel allows for various angles for returns. The panels are fabricated using the same processes used in the Stone and Porcelain Industry - the same equipment, the same epoxies, and the same sealers, etc. Interior counter tops, outdoor kitchens, table tops, wall coverings, tub / shower surrounds, and of course exterior cladding.
