HyCOMB LAMINAM by CROSSVILLE

Characteristics

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

LAMINAM is resistant to organic and inorganic solvents, disinfectants, and detergents. It can be easily cleaned without altering its surface characteristics.

WEAR RESISTANCE

LAMINAM is highly scratchproof and resistant to deep abrasion. The properties of the slabs remain unchanged even after intensive use and frequent cleaning.

HIGH FLEXURAL STRENGTH

LAMINAM has a high modulus of rupture.

FROST RESISTANCE

LAMINAM’s average water absorption is 0.1% therefore it is frost resistant and suitable for the harshest weather conditions.

REACTION TO FIRE

LAMINAM does not contain organic material therefore it is resistant to fire, and high temperatures. In the event of fire it does not release smoke or toxic substances.

HYGIENIC SURFACE

LAMINAM is perfectly suitable for food preparation locations as it does not release elements. It does not allow the formation of mold, bacteria, and fungi.

CHROMATIC PROPERTIES

LAMINAM does not contain organic pigments and is resistant to UV rays. Even when subjected to severe solar climates, the colors will remain stable.

ECO-FRIENDLY AND RECYCLABLE

LAMINAM is a totally natural product. It does not release any elements into the environment and can be easily milled and recycled in other manufacturing Processes.

GRAFFITI PROOF

LAMINAM is a graffiti proof ceramic surface; it is easy to clean and even the strongest paints can be easily removed.

Product Summary

Porcelain is similar to a ceramic tile, a known building product used for floors or wall tiles. The porcelain is made with more durable, less water absorptive, and denser material.  It is manufactured from natural raw material and containing, in variable percentage of clays: Montmorillonite clay: CAS 1302-78-9, EC 215-108-5; Kaolinite: CAS 1318-47-7, EC not assigned; IL lite: CAS 106958-53-6, EC not assigned) Fiberglass (CAS 65997-17-3, EC 266-046-0), Binders and adhesives creating these extraordinary performance qualities. These materials are pulverize, mixed in a press and with an innovative technology, by compacting the material and then firing it in an electric kiln at temperatures over approx. 2600 degree F suitably designed to ensure the product evenness. The slabs manufactured in this way are perfectly flat and can later be cut or trimmed with total size accuracy. The porcelain can be reinforced with fiberglass mesh and its appearance can be varied from a uniform solid look, to a look that can imitate the veins of marble, movement or other stone. The slabs are sometimes made using a through body process that is the same all the way through, including the color.  Therefore, a chip or nick may be hard to notice unlike ceramic tile that is glazed with color only on the surface.

The large format porcelain used in wall systems, are referred to as panels and as for cost and weight effectiveness their thickness is reduced as little as 1/8 to ¼ of an inch. The same principles is used as reinforced stone panels, the porcelain panels are backed with aluminum honeycomb adhered to the back side of the porcelain. The fabricated panels can then be hung to the supporting wall using clips or channel systems in the same way the reinforced stone panels are. In some cases, the honeycomb backed porcelain can be directly applied to the wall surface using appropriate adhesives.

As for the differences between stone panels and porcelain panels is the larger potential size of porcelain panels, which can be manufactured in widths up to 39 inches and lengths that can go up to nearly 10 feet. The larger sizes mean fewer joints, easier installation, and various design opportunities. The porcelain panels exhibit bending strength and water resistance better than most natural stone and ceramic solutions. Its thin size and stability provides a positive thermal expansion coefficient when compared to other building materials.  Also, this material its resistance to abrasion, stains, chemicals, graffiti, and color changes from sunlight. Porcelain slabs are thinner, lighter, durable and attractive solution than standard porcelain products.
